About the App
The main purpose of this app is to facilitate the voting process for the jury by allowing them to enter points for the competitors in real-time.
This app is made for one music competition in Croatia, The International Competition for Young Musicians Sonus. It is a manifestation which takes place annually with the contestants from the country and region, along with the prestigious Croatian and, from 2017, foreign music pedagogues as the members of the Competition jury. The music school Albert Štrige Križevci is the co-organizer of the competition and the host.
Registration Form - link
Competitors enter their personal details and other required information in the provided fields. They would typically provide accurate and up-to-date information to ensure proper registration.
- Confirmation Email
Once the registration form is successfully submitted, competitors will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation will acknowledge their successful registration and provide additional information such as data provided by a competitor, competition guidelines, schedule, payment details.
Competitors and Jury Management
The app includes a database that stores information about all the competitors and jury members. The admin has the ability to edit or delete competitor and jury profiles and also add new jury members. Competitors can be filtered by discipline and category, and sorted by name, surname, year of birth, discipline, category and name of the school to provide a more organized and efficient viewing experience.
- Filtering by Discipline and Category
The admin can choose the desired discipline and category from the dropdown menu.
- Sorting by Clicking on Table Headers
The admin can click on the "Name" header to sort the table alphabetically by the competitors' names. Clicking on the "Surname" header would sort the table based on the competitors' surnames, and so on.
- Combined Filtering and Sorting
The admin have the flexibility to apply both filters and sorting simultaneously. This allows to further refine the list of competitors and organize it based on their specific preferences. By incorporating filtering and sorting the app provides admin with multiple options to manage and organize the list of competitors in a way that suits their needs.
- Reset Filters Button
After resetting the filters, the app would refresh the displayed list of competitors and would now include all competitors, regardless of the discipline or category. This ensures a seamless experience when adjusting or modifying the applied filters in the app.
- Export CSV Button
The app provides the generated CSV file for download to the admin. By offering an "Export CSV" button, admin can easily retrieve all data from the database in a structured and portable format. This functionality facilitates data management and allows admin to perform various operations or analysis on the data outside of the app.
Descriptive Rating
On the Descriptive Rating page, there is a table that displays the disciplines and categories along with the respective number of competitors in each discipline and category. Additionally, the table shows the number of emails that have been sent for each discipline and category (information regarding emails distribution).
The admin has the ability to view and edit the descriptive rating for each competitor. After reviewing, the admin can send an email to the competitor that includes the descriptive rating from all jury members.
Second Round Eligibility
After the first round of the competition, the admin can check which competitors are eligible for the second round using the "Second Round" page.
Solfeggio Written Points
The admin can enter written points for discipline Solfeggio using the "Solfeggio Written" page. The process of entering written points for the Solfeggio discipline should occur before entering the points by jury.
Competition Management
All information related to the competition, including disciplines and categories, is managed under the "Competition" page.
The Voting Procedure
- Set Discipline and Category
The admin starts by navigating to the "Set Discipline and Category" page. On this page, they can choose the desired discipline and category for the competition.
- Initiating the Voting Process
After selecting the discipline and category, the admin goes to the "Jury" page. On the Jury page, they will find a "Voting" button. Clicking the "Voting" button initiates the voting process for the jury members.
- Email Notification with a Magic link to the Jury
Once the "Voting" button is clicked, the app system generates an email. The email is sent to a specific member of the jury, based on their email recorded in the system. This email contains a magic link, which provides one-time access to the jury member.
- Accessing the Voting Interface
The jury member receives the email with the magic link. By clicking on the magic link, the jury member gains access to the voting interface.
- Entering Points for Competitors
Upon accessing the voting interface, the jury member can view the list of competitors. The jury member enters their points for each competitor based on their judgment and assessment.
- Real-Time Results
As the jury member enters their points, the results are updated in real-time. The competition organizers and the audience can view the updated results on the Results page of the app and also have the option to print them. This process ensures a smooth and efficient voting procedure for the jury members, allowing them to access the voting interface through a unique magic link sent via email.
The Descriptive Rating Procedure
- Accessing the Descriptive Rating Feature
The admin starts by going to the "Jury" page in the app. On the Jury page, they will find a "Descriptive rating" button. Clicking the "Descriptive rating" button initiates the process for entering descriptive ratings.
- Email Notification to the Jury
After clicking the "Descriptive rating" button, the app system generates an email. This email is sent to a specific jury member. The email contains a link that the jury member needs to open.
- Entering Email Address
Upon opening the link from the email, the jury member is directed to a Need Login Email for Descriptive Rating? page. On this page, the jury member is prompted to enter the email address that they provided to the competition organizer.
- Verification and Magic Link
After entering the email address, the app system verifies it against the information provided to the competition organizer. If the email address is valid, the jury member receives another email. This email contains a magic link, similar to the voting procedure, granting one-time access to the descriptive rating feature.
- Accessing the Descriptive Rating Interface
By clicking on the magic link received in the email, the jury member gains access to the descriptive rating interface.
- Providing Descriptive Ratings
Once inside the descriptive rating interface, the jury member can enter their descriptive ratings for the competitors. The jury member can provide their detailed assessment or comments for each competitor based on their evaluation. This procedure needs to be followed every time a jury member wants to access the descriptive rating feature. It ensures that only authorized jury members can provide their descriptive ratings by verifying their email address.
